  1. How to rebook my Air India Express booking in the current situation?

    If you have a future dated travel till 30th September 2020, you can modify your booking through our website www.airindiaexpress.in and by clicking on "Manage My Bookings".

    If If your travel has already completed,  you can modify your booking through our City Office or Call Centre.

    Due to the lockdown situation in most countries around the world, many of the City offices may not be operational. This leads to unprecedented call volumes. You may experience longer hold time. We appreciate your patience and understanding during these difficult times.

  2. I have already cancelled my PNR due to the uncertain travel conditions, can I retrieve my cancelled booking and modify again?

    Cancelled PNRs cannot be modified.

  3. Is there any fee for modification of my flight to a different date?

    If you have an existing booking or make a new booking, for travel till 30th September 2020, you can modify your booking with zero date change fee. Fare difference, if any, may be applicable.

  4. Will I be informed regularly by the airline through SMS or mail regarding any recent updates that affect my travel plan?

    Please follow our social media handles and website to know the latest updates regarding COVID-19 travel restrictions.

    You will be informed via SMS or mail by the airline, if your flight has been cancelled. Please ensure that the correct email ID and phone number has been provided in your PNR.

  5. Why am I charged for cancellation when I did not cancel my flight and the cancellation is done by the airline?

    Neither the airline nor the passenger has cancelled the flight on its own volition. The airline has suspended the flights due to government regulations. We are providing full value of your current booking when you rebook for your travel within 31st December 2021.

  6. If I do not cancel my flight, will auto-cancellation take place and will I be refunded automatically. Do I need to cancel my ticket on my own and request for refund?

    Currently, there is no auto-cancellation of the PNRs. However, we are offering modification with zero date change fee for travel up to 31st December 2021.

  7. If I do not cancel my ticket, will it remain active for me to modify to a future date, when I am ready to fly?

    Yes, you may modify your booking to any date for your travel within 31st December 2021.

    It is recommended that you do not cancel your ticket. Once you have firmed up your travel date, you may contact our City Office or Call Centre.

  8. If the modified ticket fare is lower than the original fare, will the airline credit the difference in money to my account?

    No, the difference in fare would not be refunded.

  9. In case the lockdown extends and the flights are not operational, can I rebook to another date without extra charge?

    Yes, you may rebook with zero date change fee. Fare difference, if any, may apply.

  10. Why is my refund delayed despite repeated reminders?

    Due to the present circumstances, we have limited number of employees at our offices and some offices are non operational due to lock down situations. Therefore, it may take some time to process your refund. We request your patience and understanding regarding this matter.

  11. If I reschedule for a future date and if the flight operations are not resumed on that day, can I re-modify for free or not?

    Yes, you can modify using zero date change facility. Fare difference, if any, may apply. You may modify your booking to any date for your travel within 31st December 2021.

  12. I had booked tickets for our family and now we have decided to travel only next year. We do not want to hold the ticket. Can we get full refund since we do not want to travel on modified dates?

    We are giving the option to modify your ticket with zero date change fee. Fare difference, if any, may be applicable.

  13. Till what date can I modify my booking for my travel?

    You may modify your booking for travel within 31st December 2021.

  14. Already I have booked and rescheduled the flights due to COVID-19. At the time of modification, I have paid the fare difference and service charges. As the airline has cancelled the operations, should I pay the fare difference once again for rebooking?

    You can modify your booking again with zero date change penalty. Depending on the date of travel, fare difference may or may not apply.

  15. Why am I not able to connect to any City/Airport Offices? The Call Centre numbers are either busy or has a long hold time.

    Air India Express Call Centre numbers in India are +91 44 40013001 or +91 44 24301930.

    Due to the lockdown situation in most countries around the world, some City offices may not be operational. Due to unprecedented call volumes during these difficult times, you may experience longer hold time. If not urgent, we request you to contact our Call Centre or City Office after flight operations are back to normal. We appreciate your patience and understanding regarding this matter.

  16. What would happen if I cancel my booking?

    Depending on when you made the booking and what is your travel date, cancellation charges may apply.

  17. How much hand sanitizer can I carry in cabin baggage?

    For safe travel of passengers in relation to COVID-19, Bureau of Civil Aviation Security, India is now permitting passengers to carry 350 ml liquid sanitizer in the cabin baggage for travel within India and for outbound flights from India upto 12th August, 2020. Carriage of other liquid items / gel/ paste or items of similar consistency is restricted to 100 ml.

Repatriation/ Air Bubble Flights from GULF, SINGAPORE & MALAYSIA to INDIA

  1. Can I book repatriation/ air bubble flights from websites or agents?

    Air bubble flights can be booked from our website airindiaexpress.in or authorized travel agents or city offices.

    Passport information and Passenger Contact Details are mandatory while making any bookings.

    Any VBM flights which are open for sale in website will be updated in our social media pages. Only Indian Nationals registered with the High Commission of India and fulfils the required entry conditions will be accepted to travel in VBM flights.

  2. How and when must I submit my self declaration?

    You must submit an online Self-Reporting form through https://www.newdelhiairport.in/airsuvidha/apho-registration to declare consent for self-paid institutional quarantine. Additionally, if you seek exemption from institutional quarantine, you must submit an Exemption Form atleast 72 hours prior departure. Additionally, State Governments may have additional rules, which can be checked on respective State Government websites.

  3. Can I modify my existing PNR which was booked for scheduled flights to travel in current repatriation/ air bubble flights?

    Yes, if you have a booking past dated/ future dated with our scheduled flights, you may modify it to travel in VBM repatriation flights. 

  4. What is the cancellation charges for repatriation/ air bubble flights?

    Only the airport/ government taxes will be refunded on cancellation of repatriation bookings irrespective of cancel request time.

  5. If my booking was made by city office, how can I address my queries?

    You must contact the city office from where the booking was made to address your booking related queries.

  6. Can I book for a wheelchair for the travel?

    Yes. Passengers who wish to avail wheelchairs will have to book it though our 24*7 contact centre or our city offices. Where charges are not borne by Air India Express at other stations, the wheelchair facility will be provided at no extra charge to the passengers. 

    The passenger will be assigned a seat in the rear of the aircraft for easy usage of lavoratries, since the forward lavoratory is not allocated for passengers.

  7. Is COVI-19 PCR Test mandatory while travelling from international to India?

    As per the Directives received from UAE MOH, Effective 21st August 2020, all passengers departing from Abu Dhabi are required to carry a Negative COVID-19 PCR test certificate, with a validity of not more than 96 hours before departure. For passengers departing from Sharjah and Dubai, COVID-19 PCR test is only mandatory for the Indian destinations which requires the COVID-19 PCR report.

    Air Bubble Flights from INDIA to UAE

  8. Can I travel from India to UAE?

    Currently only the following category of passengers are permitted to travel to UAE:

    (i) UAE Nationals
    (ii) Resident Permit holder having a stamped RP in the passport returning to UAE only.
    (iii) Indian National with a valid Visa of UAE and travelling to UAE only. 

  9. Is ICA/ GDRFA approval necessary for Resident Permit Holder returning to UAE?

    The Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship has made it MANDATORY for Resident Permit Holders returning to UAE to upload their data on the uaeentry.ica.gov.ae to verify the authenticity of travel documents. If you get a message in Green that you can proceed with the completion of your travel procedures; only then you will be allowed to travel.

    If you hold a Dubai residence visa and you are flying back to Dubai, you must have return approval from the GDRFA. Other emirates residence visa holders travelling to Dubai require no ICA approval on the condition that they get ‘OK TO BOARD’ status.

  10. Is COVID-19 PCR Test mandatory to travel back to UAE?

    Passengers are required to take a COVID-19 PCR test not more than 96 hours before departure.

    For all passengers 12 years old and above, a valid Negative COVID – 19 PCR test report in the printed form, from a government-approved laboratory in India (ICMR) or a Certified  designated laboratory which is available on screening.purehealth.ae website is required.

    Passengers who have moderate or severe disability are exempted from COVID – 19 PCR test for travel to Dubai and Abu Dhabi.

    For passengers travelling to Sharjah, a Virtual Notification received through SMS or through ALHOSN Mobile Smart App is also acceptable.

  11. What are the different forms I am required to submit got the travel?

    Health Declaration Form and Quarantine Undertaking form must be filled and submitted at the airport on arrival. Please visit http://blog.airindiaexpress.in/india-uae-travel-update/ to download the forms for your destination.

  12. Is it mandatory to download any mobile application before my arrival at UAE? 

    For Dubai, passenger must download and activate COVID-19- DXB Smart App and for Abu Dhabi and Sharjah, passenger must download and activate ALHOSN Mobile Smart App.

  13. What will happen to my booking if I do not get an API (Airport Pssenger Information) approval? 

    A passenger who is required to have the API approval for travel and has not received it and thereby is unable to travel, the passenger will be offered a free date change in the next available flight. Fare difference, if any, may be applicable. 

  14. Can I travel to UAE with my Tourist Visa? 

    Yes you can travel except for Abu Dhabi. Passport and related documents accepted for entry must have a minimum 6-month validity from the arrival date. Health Insurance covering COVID-19 is preferable. As per latest instructions received from Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship, only passengers holding valid residence visa are allowed to travel to Abu Dhabi.

  15. What is the cancellation charges for these flights?

    Only the airport/ government taxes will be refunded on cancellation of these bookings irrespective of cancel request time.

  16. Can I book for a wheelchair for the travel?

  17. Can I book for transit travel to UAE?

  18. is there any restrictions for Unaccompanied Minors to travel to Abu Dhabi?

    Yes. Due to the institutional quarantine regulations, unaccompanied minors will not be accepted for travel to Abu Dhabi.
